As a direct-to-video sequel, *Pet Sematary Two* is relatively mediocre in terms of directorial technique. Director Mary Lambert returns to helm the film, but loses the restraint and atmospheric tension of the original, instead relying on gore and cheap scares. In terms of performances, newcomers Edward Furlong (the child star from *Terminator 2*) and Anthony Edwards deliver passable acting, but the script's superficial character development fails to evoke emotional resonance from the audience.
