In terms of acting, Kai Coley's portrayal of "The Preacher" strives to mimic the manic charisma of a cult leader but lacks depth, while Tim and Ellie's performances are flat, failing to establish sufficient emotional resonance. Compared to Stephen King's 1983 short story, this film retains only the core premise of children killing adults but completely abandons the original's supernatural cornfield deity, "The Walker," instead emphasizing the cult leader's personal magnetism.
